What extensions are
Add-ons that give your workspace surfaces and behaviour it didn't have.
An extension is an add-on installed on your whole organization. It doesn't just unhide a button - it contributes real surfaces to the product.
| It can add | Example |
|---|---|
| A tab on a Noot | Notes, Billing, Field, RFIs |
| A chip in a Noot's header | FOIA export, Public view |
| A badge on a task card | The SLA countdown |
| A panel in a task's detail | Billable time, SLA, Related RFIs |
| A section in Org settings | SLA policies, Shift patterns, Compliance log |
| A background job | SLA escalation sweeps, dependency ripple, RMM alert intake |
| A launcher tile | CRM |
A great deal of Noots is built this way, including areas that don't look like add-ons at all. Forms, the CRM, Agendas, Kudos, NPS, Retros, Standups, Vendors and Notes are all extensions. That's deliberate: it means a workspace only carries the product it actually uses.
The ones that come with an industry
Some extensions have a tile of their own in the app launcher and are ticked for you when you pick an industry, so they are there on your first day without your having asked. In launcher order:
| Extension | What it is | Ticked by |
|---|---|---|
| Timeline (Gantt) | The whole plan as a Gantt - task bars across a calendar, dependencies drawn in. See The Timeline and The Gantt tab. | Agency & Consulting |
| Goals & OKRs | Objectives with measurable key results, rolling up as people update the numbers. | General Purpose |
| Customer Health | A 0 to 100 score for every CRM account, from signals your workspace already records, worst first. NPS and Renewals are tabs inside it. | Legal & Professional Services |
| Clients | Households and the people and entities inside them, what each one holds, and the strategy it is measured against. | Financial & Accounting Services |
| Assignments | What is due, soonest first, with a status, grades, feedback and files. | Academia & Research |
| Classes | A timetable and course record - when each class meets, who teaches it, where the readings are. | Academia & Research |
| Noots Signatures | Send a file already in the workspace to colleagues for signature, and keep the record of who signed it and when. See Noots Signatures. | Legal, Government, Engineering & Construction |
| Structures | Draw how the organization is arranged, then use the drawing to correct the real teams and divisions. It is a section of the Organization tab. See Structures. | Healthcare, Government, Education |
| Training | Courses and quizzes people are assigned with a due date, and a credential register that warns before things lapse. See Training. | Healthcare, Government, Education |
Forms and the CRM are on this list too and have sections of their own - see Forms and CRM. Everything here is installable on any workspace whatever industry you picked, and removable from Org settings -> Extensions.
Where they come from
- An industry preset at setup, or from Org settings → Extensions → Industry Preset later.
- The Marketplace, one at a time, whenever you want.
In the extensions manager, every extension lists exactly what it contributes under What it adds - so you can see what changes before you install anything.
